I'm going to the biggest sporting event held in the last four years, and it trips me out when I say that! I have never had this kind of opportunity, being involved in such a huge event, and actually having some kind of effect on the outcome. Head water polo journalist, who would've thought, or maybe it was the fact that the company that hired me wasn't thinking at all! I have a lot of responsibility coming up and am ready for the challenge. The best part is that for the first week its just meeting your fellow coworker and getting situated. We will be receiving training sessions to help us get back into the swing of things, which for some of us its a necessity. Ending the week, we take a cool trip to the Great Wall and will be enjoying some Peking duck for dinner, which is the best in Beijing. I'll have to do the majority of my wandering around pre games, adding to the fact that there are probably a million or more people coming in the same time I do. China is one of the most crowded countries in the world, I just wonder how its going to be now? The best part about wandering around is hitting the night markets of Beijing, where pretty much anything goes because as long as you can bargain, your in the game. After the first week, I believe I actually have to start getting serious and prepare myself for watching ten plus water polo games a day. It won't get old after the eighth day! Its a dream come reality and once the reality hits, I'll be writing more!
